Our goal was to make our meetings the most accessible for our junior high girls. We chose an after school program once a month. As you decide when to have your meetings you should consider after school, evening, weekend, and summer days or nights. You can have meetings more often or you could pack a Saturday with several sessions. You will need to check with the junior high in regards to other conflicting after school activities.
Our regular agenda includes an opening discussion or brain teaser that also serves the purpose of breaking the ice (3:30). We introduce our speaker and give them the floor (3:45). We start our experiment or activity directly after the speaker. This allows us a little flexibility for the speaker to run short or over. We wrap up the meeting with a announcement of the next meeting, the speaker and the activity.
